Our focus topics for Term 1 and 2:
What’s great about me?
This first unit helps the children to settle into Year 1 by celebrating the uniqueness of themselves and what is around them and who inspires them. Children reflect on their own talents and what they are capable of, enabling them to get off to a flourishing start in Key Stage 1.
What lights up my world?
The second unit looks at the Gun powder plot and how this links to the history of Britain and how we commemorated this with Bonfire night. Children will learn about how past events affect how we enjoy today. Our focus continues to link to a night theme, looking at ‘Night Visitors’ and ‘Peace at Last’.
