Y3 /4 football competition 14th March
Year 3/4 Mixed football
On Thursday 14th March 2019, the year 3 and 4 children had their first football competition of the year.
Wantage entered two teams into the competition which included 8 boys and 6 girls. The teams were split into an A and B team and played against other schools in the vale area.
Both teams played really well during the afternoon, with each team winning, drawing and losing some matches. Below are the tables and the groups scores
Pool A
1st - Cumnor - 9 points
2nd - Rush Common - 7 points - +4 goal difference
3rd - Wantage A - 4 points - -8 goal difference
4th - Long Furlong B - 4 points - -9 goal difference
Pool B
1st - Millbrook - 8 points - +5 goal difference
2nd - St. Amand's - 8 points - +4 goal difference
3rd - Wantage B - 5 points
4th - Long Furlong A - 3 points
Both teams, despite not progressing from the groups worked well as a team, encouraged each other and showed great sportsmanship during the afternoon. All the children are looking forward to the next football competition!
