If my child is ill, how and when should I inform the school?

Parents/carers must inform the teacher or school office as soon as possible in person or by leaving a message on the school’s phone – 01235 762396. If your child has been vomiting or has diarrhoea they should only return to school 48 hours after the end of the symptoms.

What are the school opening hours?

KS2 (Years 3 - 6) start at 8.40am, KS1 (Years 1 & 2) start at 8.45am and FS (Reception) starts at 8.50am.

KS2 finish at 3.00pm, KS1 and FS stage finish at 2.55pm.

Nursery times: 8.45am – 11.45am or 12.00pm – 3.00pm (can pick up at 2.50pm if have other children in school)

What are school office opening hours?

The office is generally open between 8.30am and 3.00pm.

Where do I buy the school uniform?

All of the school uniform can be purchased from Mapac. See the Uniform Policy. Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with the child's name. The Friends frequently organise second-hand uniform sales - ask at the school office.

What do I do if I am worried about my child’s progress?

Always talk with your child's class teacher first. It is important to keep up this link to ensure home and school have a common understanding of how best to meet the needs of your child. Concerns can then be referred to senior staff if needs be.

What do I do if I need my child to be absent from school during term-time?

It is a legal requirement that the school is informed if a child is absent for reasons other than sickness. In line with legislation that came into place in September 2013, the school will not approve requests for authorised absence during term-time, except in exceptional circumstances.

 We are a Nut-free school.

If you provide your child with a packed lunch please do not include nuts/food containing nuts in your child's lunch box as we are a nut free school.

Children are welcome to drink fruit-flavoured water or juice cartons as part of their lunch. However, in the classroom, children can only have water in their water bottles.
